What Has Arthur Evans Found on Crete?

When conducting excavations on Crete island as well as studying found objects Arthur Evans repeatedly notes that some of the characters imprinted on these items have an obvious connection with the region of Asia Minor and Syria.

For example, in one of his early works he describes the pebbles of yellow steatite with pictures. His attention is drawn to particular three stones...

Here is what he writes: "the RAM's Head is seen again with the bird and scorpion. The last one is the most common symbol in early Asian and Syrian seals.". .

Science in 1895 still know little about the Sumerians. Serious excavations were only planned. Otherwise Evans would have noticed that all three characters are present in Sumer.

And the question is – why does Evans connect these three characters?

He connects them because these characters are constantly found together over Crete.

In this case a second question arises - Why are they constantly together?

Obviously those three characters are linked with something.

With what?

In my book , in the Chapter titled "Skoprion" [Makarats. Yerevan. 2014. p. 291] I described in details the reason for such a frequent presence of a Scorpion in Sumerian symbolism. Here I have to repeat myself. The symbol of Scorpio has its roots in the Armenian-Sumerian bilingual. How?

The fact is that the word "Scorpion" in Sumerian is pronounced as GIR and in Armenian the same word means "writing " - ԳԻՐ.

It was the Armenian-Sumerian bilingual game on the base of which Scorpion indicated the value of "writing" in pictographs.

It is quite understandable that someone may think that is impossible and unbelievable. I believe that the old school proponents who stuck to the concept that native speakers of the Armenian language were immigrants on the territory of the Armenian Highlands just after hearing this will hasten to call it nonsense even without understanding . But it doesn’t have any value absolutely if only our statements are scientifically grounded and methodical. Any idol losses its golden cover sooner or later ! So we move on...

As we know writing systems are many and they vary and so we wonder what script was meant by the symbol of a Scorpion - the subject, pictographic, hieroglyphic, syllabic or maybe alphabetical?

Since ancient times Mankind has been striving to simplify the writing system. For example, the transition from cuneiform writing system to alphabetic is considered revolutionary because it greatly simplified humans’ life

The pictographic writing can not be considered a simplification of cuneiform and on the contrary, pictography preceded cuneiform. However it continued to be used for a long time as in comparison with the cuneiform writing it was a simplified form of information transmission, in other words, was a peculiar form of shorthand. A different solution was clay tokens spread around the world from Sudan to Pakistan [see Makarats.2014.str. 86].

In other words all these forms of information transfer were shorthand forms. So all these forms of writing were marked by the symbol of a Scorpion.

And here note that in Armenian a complex word KARJAGIR (Կարճագիր) means both "Cursive" and "Skorpion letter." This phenomenon occurs because of the consonance of arm.karj (կարճ) "short, fast" and karij (կարիճ) "Scorpion" and the conconance is not accidental but well thought out and inserted into the Armenian language. Why was this done? The idea was to create a Universal, Scientific, Philosophical Language as a kind of a Key to the mysteries of the Universe and in particular to the white spots of history

Hopefully now, after reading the snippet 26:13 of the book of Job: "by His spirit he garnished the heavens; His hand hath formed the crooked serpent (scorpion).", You will easily understand that we are talking about the alphabetic writing system. And you will understand it because at your disposal you have the Key – Armenian Language!

I want to note that without the Key, this fragment is commented in the following way:

"About the omnipotence of God, the "splendor of heaven" – all the bright lights and created by the divine hand "quick Scorpion", Heb. "nachash bariach" are evident. What needs to be understood under the expression also found in Is 27:1 is hard to say. Judging by the context is about some constellation but we don’t know exactly which one. It is assumed that it lies between the Great Bear and the Little Bear wrapping half of the Arctic circle. Heb. the expression "halla" (Synodal "formed") is also differently understood. Some produce it from the "hul" – "form" (Deut 22.18; PS 89.2), while others including the LXX and Peshito, from "hapal "to pierce" ".

I think my readers understand the helplessness of the commentator.

What else can we discover by using our Key? For example, figure 64b that Evans mistook for a sheep's head, is actually a picture of an ox. Let us use our key...
In Armenian language the word "ox" is pronounced as ez (եզ), and in Sumerian the word ez (ezi) is written as and means "a priest of God Haya" and it is probably useless to remind you that hay is the self-designation of the Armenians. Is not necessary but I've already done it.

But that's not all. In the Armenian language, the word ez (եզ) in addition to the value of "ox" also means "one, single" and in this sense the sign "ox" is in the Phaistos Disk.
